Principles of Management (MGT 503) Semester: Spring 2019 Assignment No. 1 Due Date: May 22, 2019 Total Marks: 10 Objective of the Assignment: To better understand the responsibilities of a manager and to know the significance of the tasks performed by a manager.

Assignment:
Broadly a manager performs four different functions including Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. While Mintzberg proposed ten managerial roles (Figurehead, Leader, Liaison, Monitor, Disseminator, Spokesperson, Entrepreneur, Disturbance Handler, Resource Allocator and Negotiator) for a manager to manage the overall organization. Think deeply and identify the roles among these ten managerial roles that are performed while Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling, respectively. Provide your answer in the following format with a brief justification for selecting particular role for each management function.
Note: 1 mark will be deducted for not following the format.

RULES FOR MARKING: Please note that your assignment will not be graded or graded as Zero (0), if:  It is submitted after the due date.  The file you uploaded does not open or is corrupt.  It is in any format other than MS-Word or Open Office; e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, PDF etc.  It is cheated or copied from other students, internet, books, journals etc.

IMPORTANT 24 hours extra/ grace period after the due date is usually available to overcome uploading difficulties. This extra time should only be used to meet the emergencies and above mentioned due dates should always be treated as final to avoid any inconvenience.           Good Luck!
